Welcome to our website! Stockport Photographic Society is composed of photographers of different interests and levels of experience, but we all share a love of photography. Although the society was founded in 1890, we're most definitely grounded in the 21st century!
Our meetings programme includes presentations on many varied subjects, as well as practical workshops, image surgeries, photoshoots and competitions (between members, and against other clubs). There's also time to socialise over a cuppa (and later, in the pub).
We meet on Tuesdays at 7.30pm — apart from our summer recess in July and August.
When we're not on a photoshoot, we usually meet at:
St. George's Church Meeting Rooms
off Buxton Road, Heaviley
Stockport SK2 6NX
New members are welcome, however (in-)experienced in photography. A fancy camera is not a requirement; we use anything that takes photos. Anyone interested in joining us is welcome to come along to a meeting to see what happens, or contact us if you prefer.
Here are some maps to help you find us. The Meeting Rooms are on a private road, off the A6 Buxton Road, to the south of Stockport town centre. Just look for the huge church with a spire (which looks a bit like Thunderbird 3).
