The Cheadle Alliance is an annual four-way competition between the four photographic societies in the Borough of Stockport, namely Bramhall, Hyde, Romiley and Stockport. One round is held at each of the four venues, and each society submits six prints and six digital images.
This year, the final round was held at Bramhall PS, with Stockport PS leading Bramhall by sixteen points after the first three rounds. After the judging of the prints, Bramhall had nearly halved the deficit, and nerves were beginning to jangle. However, with a stronger showing in the digital images section, Stockport PS eventually emerged as the overall winner after the four rounds, and was presented with the Cheadle Alliance Shield (pictured above).
Stockport PS has now won the Cheadle Alliance for the last six years, and all of those participating are to be congratulated. Thanks are also due to Ove Alexander, the Competition Secretary, who is responsible for choosing the prints and digital images submitted for the competition.
The next competition starts this Autumn. Can Stockport PS make it seven wins in a row?
