In Conversation with the Artists
by Paul Webster & Henry Quick
Saturday 15th April, 11am - 1pm, at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery
Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery, as part of their programme to help commemorate the centenary of World War I, is hosting an exhibition of photographs and paintings entitled “Beneath the Waves”. It is a collaboration between Paul Webster exhibiting black and white photographs of shipwrecks that were sunk during or participated in World War I, and a Stockport artist Henry Quick who has produced a number of mixed media work inspired by the photographs.
The photographs from around the UK and Ireland, include a selection of images of warships and non-combatant ships from the allied and German navies, and show how they have lasted underwater for in some cases more than 100 years.
This event is part of Stockport Photographic Society's Spring into Photography series of events around its 125th Annual Exhibition at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery, Saturday 15th April 2017 – Tuesday 30th May 2017. Admission is free to exhibition & all events.
